OBITUARY - CAROL (BEVIS) STURTEVANT

Carol STURTEVANT died June 8, 2003, at age 91.

Carol BEVIS was born August 27, 1911 in Mount Ayr, Iowa. In about 1968, she moved to Portland. She was a secretary at Tektronix and also worked as a telex operator. She owned Canyon Bowl in Beaverton and Scotty's Garden Supply in Raleigh Hills. In 1931, she married Henry STURTEVANT; he died in 1976.

Survivors include her son, Robert H. STURTEVANT; daughters, Carol Jean PRATT, and Nancy Ann DACHTLER; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Remembrances to Sacred Heart Hospice in Eugene. Arrangements by Chapel of Memories.

OBITUARY - CAROL (BEVIS) STURTEVANT

Carol STURTEVANT of Eugene [Oregon] died June 8 of age-related causes. She was 91.

She was born Aug. 27, 1911, in Mount Ayr, Iowa, to Leumbra and Cora (HARRIS) BEVIS). She married Henry STURTEVANT in Butte Butte, Mont., on April 23, 1931. He died May 18, 1976.

She attended high school in Spokane. She worked in the garden supply and bowling alley businesses. She also worked as a legal secretary and as a telex operator. She lived in McMinnville, Portland and Lincoln City before settling in this area in 1998.

She enjoyed handwork and needle crafts. She especially enjoyed her family and gardening.

Survivors include a son, Robert of Pahrump, Nev.; two daughters, Carol PRATT of Eugene and Nancy DACHTLER of Portland; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

No service is planned. Chapel of Memories Funeral Home in Eugene is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Sacred Heart.
