OBITUARY - MYRTLE ALICE (TALLMAN) STROUP)

JUNE 5, 1914 - Myrtle Alice TALLMAN was born August 27, 1881, at Newton,Jasper county,Iowa, and departed this life May 2, 1914, at her home near Iroquois, Kingsbury county, South Dakota,at the age of 33 years, 8 months and 26 days. On February 3, 1910, she was married to Harley E. STROUP. All through life her health was poor and at times she suffered greatly. Often she spoke of not knowing why she should thus remain on earth while others who could do more good were taken away. She had no children but there are left to mourn her loss the husband and both her parents also two brothers and three sisters. Two brothers died before her. The living are Frank TALLMAN, of Lamoni; Floyd TALLMAN, of Mount Ayr; Mrs. J. M. HUNT, of Iroquois, S. D.; and Mrs. J. LAMBAND, Miss Anna TALLMAN of Lamoni. The bereaved husband brought the mortal remains to Lamoni, Iowa, where her parents live. Services were held in the Saints church on Wednesday, May 27, at 3 o'clock and burial was made in Rose Hill cemetery. H. A. STUBBINS preached the funeral discourse.
