OBITUARY ~ BETH ANN (JENNINGS) STRANGE

Beth Ann JENNINGS STRANGE of Tulsa, Oklahoma was welcomed into the arms of her precious Heavenly Father on July 2, 2011. Beth was born to loving parents Norman B. and Gertrude A. (ROSS) JENNINGS on October 14, 1955 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She was welcomed by a brother, Bill, and sister, Linda. Later the family was completed with the addition of another brother, Dwight. Beth lived in Iowa with her family, moving to Muscatine and then to Creston, where Beth started kindergarten. She also attended elementary school in Cedar Rapids and Alburnet before moving to Ellston in 1970. She graduated from the Mount Ayr Community high school with the class of 1974.

In 1978 Beth married Doug STRANGE. This marriage was blessed by beautiful twin daughters, Heidi Alice and Hatti Rose. Beth and Doug were divorced. Beth and the twins lived in Ellston before moving to Winterset where Beth enjoyed working as a teacher's aide in the Winterset elementary school. She also completed two years of college at Southwestern Community College in Creston.

Beth and the twins moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma. When Beth married Victor ROBINSON, Rashon ROBINSON was warmly accepted as a stepson. Beth and Victor divorced.

Beth was employed as a case manager at DirectTV until failing health prevented her working.

The Lord was the engine of Beth's life. She accepted Jesus as her Savior in her teen years while attending a lay witness mission. She increased her knowledge of the Bible in a two-year school of ministry study at the Word of Life Church in Winterset and later attended classes at the Oral Roberts University in Tulsa.

Beth had a passion for children and children's ministry; she especially cherished directing a puppet ministry. She infused enthusiasm, humor and love into her lessons and the children were drawn to her.

Beth was a member of the Redeemed by Grace Church in Tulsa and loyally attended as long as her health allowed. She faithfully read the Bible, developing a special love for the 91st Psalm and she was a conscientious intercessor.

Beth had a knack of creativity in many areas. She learned culinary skills and sewing from the hands of her mother, enjoyed the art of laughing and fixing from her father, polished her artistic flair under her art teacher, Sue LARSON, and practiced the art of sharing as commanded by her Heavenly Father. Beth was always ready to share anything with someone in need.

Beth was preceded in death by her mother, Gertrude JENNINGS; her grandparents, Clark and Mary JENNINGS and Roy and Hazel ROSS, and a brother-in-law, Jim DUKES.

Beth is survived by her twin daughters, Heidi STRANGE and Hatti STRANGE, and her step-son, Rashon ROBINSON, all of Tulsa, Oklahoma; her father Norman (Marian) JENNINGS of Mount Ayr, Iowa; brothers, William (Elaine) JENNINGS of Belton, Missouri and Dwight (Debra) JENNINGS of Gillette, Wyoming; sister, Linda (Ronnie) BINNING of Grand River, Iowa; step-sister, Sharene POORE of Des Moines, IA, step-brothers Steve (Denae) ENGLAND of Winterset, Iowa, Scott (Jodi) ENGLAND of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Shad (Jody) ENGLAND of Granger, Iowa, and a long-time friend like a sister, Wanda GAITHER of Des Moines, Iowa.

In addition, Beth had very tight and loving bonds with her numerous nieces and nephews and she had many, many friends.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, July 9, at the Redeemed by Grace Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma and on Saturday, July 16, at the Kellerton Assembly of God Church at 11 a.m. Burial will be in the Grand River Cemetery.
