January 30, 1931 - November 11, 2009

Mary E. STAGEMAN, 78, passed away of Lou Gehrig’s disease on November 11, 2009 at home in the presence of her family. A memorial service was held Saturday at Norwalk Christian Church.

Mary was born January 30, 1931 in Des Moines, Iowa to George and Blanche DESENBERG. She attended Iowa Wesleyn College in Mount Pleasant, Iowa. Mary was a homemaker but was very active in many organizations like "Heart Connection." She enjoyed reading, traveling, movies and playing cards, mostly "pitch" with friends and relatives.

She had many friends who enjoyed her wonderful sense of humor. Mary was very generous to everyone and she loved to be with her family. The Fourth of July was her favorite holiday. Mary will be missed by everyone as she was loved by all who knew her.

Surviving are her husband of 27 years, Richard; daughter, Susan (Greg DECKER) BAKER; brother, Don (Phyllis) DESENBERG; sister-in-law, Beulah DESENBERG; two granddaughters; two great-grandchildren; step-children, Susan STAGEMAN, Rick (Kim) STAGEMAN, Emily (Dave) ROLLISON and Will STAGEMAN; seven step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Paul, and sons, Mark and Matthew BAKER.

Visitation was held at McLaren’s Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to ASK Learning Center in Norwalk.
