OBITUARY - TIMOTHY STAATS.

Timothy STAATS, son of Hiram and Laura STAATS, was born near Cumberland, Iowa, May 29, 1881, and died at the home of his son near Blockton, Iowa, at the age of 61 years, eight months and 16 days.

In the year 1907 he was united in marriage to Mae HUBBARD, of Mitchell, S.D. To this union were born six children. His wife and daughter preceded him in death.

He leaves to mourn his passing his five sons, George of Hannibal, Mo., Gene of Marceline, Mo., Tim of near Blockton, and Abner and Cecil, who are serving with the U.S. Army; also nine grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Eva MAGGARD of Mount Ayr, Mrs.Emma MAGGARD of Sterling, Colo., and Mrs. May YOUNG of Coushatta, La.; and two brothers, Gene and Robert STAATS of Macon, Mo.

Funeral services were held Thursday, February 18, at 2:30 o'clock from the Rhoades Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Francis J. HOHLER, pastor of the Mount Ayr Baptist church. Interment was in Rose Hill cemetery.
