Olive Smith gravestone.jpg Harriet KELLER was born June 4th, 1843, in Indiana, and departed this life February 14, 1925, aged 81 years, eight months and ten days. She moved to Iowa with her parents in early childhood, where she resided on a farm near Decatur City.

She was united in marriage on July 18, 1864, to Frank SMITH , who at that time was serving in the civil war. To this union was born five children: Mrs. C. T. HIGGINS, George D. At the time of his death he was a minister in the United Brethren church, of which Mrs. SMITH was a member until she united with the Christian church of Kellerton, of which she was an active member until four years ago when her health failed. Since that time she has been a constant sufferer until her death February 14, 1925, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C. T. HIGGINS, where she had the best of care and everything that loving hearts and kind hands could do.

She leaves to mourn her departure the four children, fifteen granchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Ellen MATHANY of Kellerton and Mrs. Lydie BARS of Kansas; two brothers, George KELLER of Portland, Ore., and William KELLER of Clarinda, Iowa, and a host of relatives and friends.

NOTE: Harriet (KELLER) SMITH was interred at Oliver Cemetery near Ellston, Ringgold County, Iowa.

Frank M. SMITH, husband of Harriet (KELLER), was born in 1834, and died in 1880 with interment at Oliver Cemetery. Olive Josephine, daughter of Frank M. and Harriet (KELLER) SMITH died at the age of one year and ten months in May, 1873 with interment at Oliver Cemetery.
