OBITUARY - DEAN JUNIOR SIMPSON

Burial was made in the Cromwell cemetery Saturday afternoon for Junior SIMPSON of Indianola, who was killed by a truck while on his way to school on Wednesday. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dean SIMPSON of Indianola and a nephew of Mrs. Jennie O'RILEY, former resident of this place.

Dean Junior SIMPSON, son of Dean and Ruth SIMPSON, was born Sept. 27, 1926, near Indianola and died Sept. 30 at the Community hospital in Indianola. Dean Junior's death resulted from an injury sustained by being hit by a car while crossing the pavement on the way to school Sept. 29. He never regained consciousness.

He celebrated his tenth birthday Sunday, Sept. 27. He was in the sixth grade at school and was an apt pupil, loved by his playmates. He loved all kinds of music and took a very active part in all entertainments in the community. He was called the "song bird" in his home and will be sadly missed in his home and by his playmates.

He leaves to mourn their loss, his father and mother and three brothers, Duane, Billie and Jimmie Lee, all at home; also his grandfathers, Harry Ernest SIMPSON of Diagonal and A. J. BUNN of Indianola, besides a number of aunts, uncles, and other relatives.

Funeral servies were held Saturday morning, Oct. 3, at 10 o'clock, at the Overton funeral home. The Rev. Everett DAUS of Des Moines, former pastor of the Ackworth Friends church, conducted the services. Music was furnished by Nola and Marjorie SIMPSON, accompanied by Mrs. Lee DAVENPORT, all of Diagonal. Interment was in the Cromwell cemetery.
