V. SIDDENS DIES - Afton

Vivian SIDDENS, 80, of Afton, passed away July 19, 1987, at Greater Community Hospital at Creston of a heart attack.

She was born January 3, 1907 at Kellerton, Iowa, the daughter of Jack KUDER and Vie SHELLY KUDER. On July 4, 1926, Vivian became the bride of Elza M. SIDDENS at Afton. He preceded her in death on April 4, 1967.

Mrs. SIDDENS has lived in the Afton area since 1926. She was a very active quilter and for many years had entires of her quilts, vegetables and flowers entered at the Union County Fair. She never missed a year at the Hopeville Country Music Festival, since its inception. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. GRIMES is survived by two daughters, Norma KONKLER and companion William BURGDUFF of Creston and Mona and husband, Jack QUEE of Afton; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ernie WILKIE of Des Moines.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers, a sister, and a granddaughter.

Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at the Stroud-Lindsay Funeral Home in Afton with the Rev. John TUNNICLIFF, pastor of the United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment was at Greenlawn Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to the Afton Senior Citizens Center.
