NOTICE of DEATH

Elder R. A. BIXLER returned home Tuesday from Mt. Ayr, where he had been called to conduct the funeral of Mrs. I[saac]. J[acob]. SHOWALTER [Martha Agnes "Mattie" (MILLER) SHOWALTER], who was accidentally killed near her home at Stutigart, Ark., Wednesday, Sept. 8. The lady had just crossed the street from attending chautauqua in the afternoon and had parted with some friends, each intending to attend the chautauqua in the evening. She had to cross a street car track and was killed when found a short time later by the side of the track.

Mr. SHOWALTER had been associated with Rev. BIXLER in the A.G. church association as he was for several years secretary of the church conference, and had charge of the singing.

The body of Mrs. SHOWALTER was brought to Mt. Ayr and the funeral was held at Hickory Grove church Monday [with interment at Hickory Grove Cemetery].

She was aged 65 years and leaves five children and her husband.
