OBITUARY ~ DEAN SHOEMAKER

DAVENPORT Dean SHOEMAKER, 71, of Davenport, passed away Sunday, November 8, 2009, at Genesis West Medical Center.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday, November 13, 2009, at the Runge Mortuary & Crematory. Burial will follow at the Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation will be one hours prior to the service on Friday at the mortuary. Memorials may be made to the family.

Dean SHOEMAKER was born June 2, 1938, in Tingley, Iowa. Dean served in the U.S. Army from 1956-58. He was united in marriage to Pauline JENNINGS on June 11, 1971, in Des Moines, Iowa. She preceded him in death on November 8, 2002.

Dean had been employed at several local foundries, last working at Line-O-Tronics in Davenport. Dean loved to go dancing with his wife Pauline and since her death he was active at CASI playing billiards.

Survivors include a step-daughter, Shiela SERRANO, Davenport; step-sons, Kenneth GASKEY, Davenport, and Calvin (Linda) GASKEY, Freeport, Ill.; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a special friend and helper, Linda BARNETT.
