Frank SHIELDS, son of Francis and Macon SHIELDS, was born in Decatur county, Grand River, Iowa, March 15, 1883, and passed away at his home in Ringgold county, Iowa, at the age of 49 years, seven months and 28 days.

He was united in marriage with Miss Lizzie TREANOR, of Grand River, Iowa, on June 8, 1908.

He grew to manhood on a farm near Grand River, Iowa, and for the past twenty years has been associated in farming with his brother Jap east of Mount Ayr, in Ringgold county. Those living to mourn his loss are three brothers and five sisters: Joe and Oscar of Grand River; Jap of Mount Ayr, Mrs. Essie ROGERS and Mrs Mae STEELE of Haswell, Colo., Mrs. Lillie CRANDALL of Ladona, Mo., Mrs. Pearl SNYDER of Santa Fe, Mo., Mrs. Rosa SHIELDS of Mount Ayr; also a host of other relatives and friends.

Mr. SHIELDS was preceded in death by his father, mother and three brothers, Sanford, Fred and Arthur.

Frank was always a kind and helpful neighbor and will be sadly missed by his many relatives and friends.

The golden gates were open wide,
A gentle voice said come;
And angels from the other side,
Welcomed our loved one home.

Funeral services were held from the Rhoades Funeral Home Sunday, November 13, at 2 p.m. by Rev. Cliff JACKSON. Burial at Lesanville [Sweet Home Cemetery, Ringgold County, Iowa].

CARD OF THANKS.

We wish to thank the neighbors and friends for the many acts of kindness shown during the illness of our brother and for the lovely floral offerings.
- THE BROTHERS AND SISTERS.
