OBITUARY - LORENE OLIVE (WATSON) SHAW, Redding
MOUNT AYR - Lorene Olive SHAW, 85, of Corning died Wednesday, Jan. 25, 1989, at the Clearview Nursing Home in Mount Ayr.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church in Redding.
The Rev. Sam FRY will officiate with burial in the Redding Cemetery. A family night will be 7:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Friday at the Wilson-Watson Funeral Home in Mount Ayr.
Memorials may be directed to the United Methodist Church at Redding.
Mrs. SHAW was born April 24, 1903, in Redding to Oscar and Frances (DINKEL) WATSON. She married
Vernice W. SHAW in June 1924. She was a housewife, and a member of the Redding United Methodist Church and
United Methodist Women.
Survivors include two sons, Homer (wife Eloise) of Redding and Darrell SHAW of Mount Ayr; a sister, Leone
(Mrs. Kenneth) HULLMAN of Coin; a grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her
husband in 1974 and her parents.

OBITUARY - LORENE OLIVE (WATSON) SHAW
Lorene Olive SHAW, 85 years old, passed away Wednesday, January 25, 1989, at the Clearview Nursing Home in
Mount Ayr, Iowa.
Lorene, daughter of Oscar and Francis DINKEL WATSON, was born April 24, 1903.
In June of 1924, she was
united in marriage to V. W. SHAW. To this union two sons were born, Homer of Redding, Iowa, and Darrell of the
Clearview Home in Mount Ayr.
She lived her entire life on a farm north of Redding, Iowa. She was a 75-year member
of the Redding United Methodist Church, attending every Sunday as long as her health would permit. She was also a member
of the Redding United Methodist Women and she taugh Sunday school for many years.
She was preceded in death y her
parents; husband V. W., and one sister, Gail HOLLANDER.
Survivors are Homer and wife Eloise of Redding; Darrell of Mount
Ayr; one grandson, Jerry Dean and wife Carol of Fort Dodge, Iowa; two great-grandchildren, Heather Renee SHAW and
Adam Jeremy SHAW; one sister, Mrs. Leona HULLMAN and husband Kenneth of Coin, Iowa; one brother-in-law, Leonard HOLLANDER of
Schleswig, Iowa; and a host of nieces and nephews and many friends.
Funeral services were held January 28, 1989 from the
United Methodist Church in Redding, Iowa, conducted by Rev. Samuel FRY. Music was provided by Mrs. John SHAFER.
Casketbearers were Jim NEAS, Sam TAYLOR, Roger OLNEY, John SHAFER, Jack BAILEY and Virgil HOWIE. Burial was in the
Redding Cemetery at Redding, Iowa.
