OBITUARY - MRS. J. A. SAVILLE

Mary Emma, daughter of Silas and Sarah GORMAN HENDERSON, was born in Morgan County, Illinois, May 27, 1848, and died at the home of her son, George SAVILLE, August 2, 1935, at the age of 87 years, two months, and six days. Her mother passed away when she was 13-years-old and she cheerfully assumed the responsibility of oldest daughter in the home.

In Morgan County, Illinois, October 18, 1866, she was united in marriage to J. A. SAVILLE, who preceded her in death January 26, 1921. They moved to Ringgold county, Iowa, in 1871. In February, 1872, they established their home on a farm in Middle Fork township, where she resided the remaining 63 years of her life.

She was the mother of ten children. They are Mrs. J. H. LINK of Mt. Ayr, Joseph H. of Mountain Park, Oklahoma, John of Redding, Jacob A. of Blockton, George of Redding, Mrs. Blanche McQUIGG of Redding, Elmer of Redding, Mrs. Belle FORBES of Bagley, Minnesota, Guy and Bernard of Redding.

Early in life she accepted Christ as her Savior, and united with the Methodist Episcopal Church and has lived a faithful Christian life. She was a charter member of the Middle Fork congregation. She was a sympathetic friend to everyone in sickness and sorrow, Her home was one where everyone was welcome, especially the Circuit Riders. Not only her children and grandchildren, but the whole community rise up and call her blessed, and being deah she yet speaketh.

She leaves to moun her loss 10 children, 45 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-great-grandchild, one sister, Mrs. Myra CRAIG of Kansas City, Missouri, and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at two o'clock at the Methodist Church in Redding, conducted by the pastor, Rev. W. H. WARRIOR. Interment in Redding cemetery.
