OBITUARY - DOROTHY JEANETTE (DAVENPORT) SALTZMAN

Dorothy SALTZMAN, 91, of Mount Ayr, formerly of Tingley, died March 15, 2004, at the Health Care Center in Mount Ayr.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, March 18, at Wilson-Watson and Armstrong Funeral Home, 205 W. Monroe St., Mount Ayr. The Rev. Susan THOMAS will officiate the service. Burial will be in Maple Row Cemetery at Kellerton. Open visitation will be 1 to 8 p.m. Wednesday with family visitation 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home in Mount Ayr. A memorial has been established in her name.

Mrs. SALTZMAN, daughter of Martha Jane (SHACKLEY) and Leander DAVENPORT, was born May 16, 1912, in Kellerton. On February 24, 1936, she married Lial F. SALTZMAN in Mount Ayr. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Lial SALTZMAN of Mount Ayr; two daughters, Janetta (husband Allan) HEGGS of Norway and Darlene IRISH of Cedar Rapids; a sister, Cora SPENCER of Waukee; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Roy, Lloyd, Alvin and Darrell DAVENPORT; six sisters, Leona MINNICK, Doris AXTELL, Lucille HOLLOWAY, Florence CULVER, Marie McKEEAN and Goldie DAVENPORT; and a grandson.
