OBITUARY ~ PETER RUSH
August 09, 1870 ~ January 04, 1955

Peter Rush, son of Aaron and Nancy Rush, was born August 9, 1870, in Illinois, and departed this life January 4, 1955 at the age of 84. When a small child, he came with the family to Iowa, where he spent most of his life. He was of a family of 14 children.

He was united in marriage with Stella Pratt on Sept. 27, 1891. She passed away in 1895. Born to this union was a daughter, Fairy. He was then married to Ollie Glendenning on Nov. 29, 1896 and to this union were born 7 children: Orville, who died in infancy; Mrs. Hattie Jackson of Red Oak, Mrs. Avis Hetzel of Mt. Ayr, Mrs. Louise Peckham and Mrs. Delia Doser of Melba ID, and Mrs. Lucille Harrison of Cheverly MD. Arthur, his youngest child was killed in service during WW II.

Early in life he was converted and invited with the Methodist church. Surviving are his five daughters, a step-daughter, Mrs. John Lay of Des Moines, 16 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, two sisters, Emma Elliott and Narcissa Withers of Mt. Ayr IA.

Interment at Rose Hill Cemetery in Mt. Ayr IA.
