OBITUARY ~ MARGARET GENEVA (ANDERSON) RUSH
December 03, 1867 ~ October 17, 1942

Margaret Geneva Anderson, daughter of Eldridge Howard and Nancy Caroline Anderson, was born in Tennessee on December 3, 1867, and passed away at the hospital in Boone, IA, Saturday, October 17, at the age of 74.

On December 20, 1885 she was united in marriage to Sirastus Rush, who survives her. Three children were born to this union: Friend J. of Montana, Mrs. Olive G Ballew of Boone, and Howard of Corydon. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Donella Ashworth of Mission TX, Elaine Ballew of Boone, and Weldon Rush of CA.

When she was 3 years old she came with her parents to Missouri. Later she came to Iowa, settling in Ringgold County. After her marriage the farm home was established in the Eureka neighborhood until she moved to Mt. Ayr in 1910.

Mrs. Rush professed her faith in Christ and united with the Eureka Methodist church in 1886. Later her membership was transferred to the Methodist Church in Mt. Ayr.

She was a woman devoted to her family and during the years when she was able, often found time to help others, especially in times of illness.

Funeral services were held from the Methodist church, with interment in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Submission by Nancy Sackett, December of 2013
