OBITUARY ~ CARRIE ANN (TINDLE) ROUTH

Mrs. Carrie Routh, 83, of Lenox, died Tuesday at the Greater Community hospital in Creston. She was a longtime resident of this community. Mrs. Routh was born May 1, 1888.

She is survived by three sons, Marvin of Lenox, Lee and Francis of Diagonal. Funeral services will be held Thursday at the United Methodist Church in Lenox with burial in the Clearfield cemetery.

OBITUARY ~ CARRIE ANN (TINDLE) ROUTH

Final rites for Carrie Routh, 82, who died Tuesday, March 9, were held Thursday, March 11th from the United Methodist Church in Lenox.

Carrie Ann Routh, daughter of Tom and Isabel Wyant Tindle, was born May 1, 1888 near Knowlton, Iowa, and passed from this life on March 9, 1971 at the age of 82 years, 10 months and 8 days.

She was united in marriage with Frank L. Routh on May 4, 1911, in the same home where she was born and raised. God blessed this union with four sons, Francis, Lee, Freddie and Marvin. She was a true and faithful wife and a loving mother. The Rouths lived on a farm in the Clearfield-Diagonal vicinity until retiring to their home in Lenox in 1949.

She was preceded in death by her husband Frank, her son, Freddie, two brothers, George and Jim Tindle and her parents.

Left to cherish her memory are three sons, Francis and Lee of Diagonal and Marvin of Lenox, three daughters-in-law, Velda, Oneita and Dorothy, 8 grandchildren in whom she found much pleasure, Gary, Kathleen, Gayle, Arden, Julie, Lenita, Joan and Jim and a host of relatives and friends.

She joined church at an early age, was a member of the Methodist Church in Clearfield, and later transferred to the Lenox Methodist Church.

Rev. Floyd Newbrough officiated at the services with music furnished by Marilyn Beck, Billie Jean Barker and Norma Paymal.

Bearers were J. D. Ecklin, Elvin Riley, Delbert Routh, Max Tindle, Cletus Tindle and James Tindle.

Burial was in the Clearfield cemetery.
