OBITUARY ~ CORA ROBINSON

Cora ROBINSON, daughter of Thomas J. and Clara A. ROBINSON, was born in Beaconsfield, Ringgold County, Iowa, September 23, 1988 and passed away at the Ringgold County Hospital April 6, 1987.

She attended school in Beaconsfield, Kellerton, graduating from high school in Mount Ayr, and spent the rest of her life in this [Mount Ayr] city.

For a time she was receptionist for Dr. J. W. HILL. She worked in the phone office as operator, manager and after some years of service, she retired in 1961 as Treasurer Manager of the Ringgold Mutual Telephone Company. She then worked several years at Gunter's Jewelry.

She was a member of the United Methodist church, Federated Women's Club, Afternoon Literature and Antiques Clubs and was a charter member of B.P.W.

Cora was preceded in death by her father, mother, three sisters, Pearl, Margaret, Minnie QUIETT, and a brother Glenn.

She leaves to mourn her death two nieces, Mrs. L. A. (Mary BRONSON) of Louisville, Ky., Mrs. L. G. (Mildred) SHIELDS and husband Lyndell of Creston, Iowa; seven great-nephews and two great-nieces.

Cora's hobbies included gradening, crafts, appreciation of all arts, especially music, and she was very interested in the activities of young people. She was very independent, self-reliant and had a general zest for living.

Funeral services were held April 8, 1987 from the Wilson-Watson Funeral Home at Mount Ayr, Iowa, conducted by Rev. Ed KAIL. Music was provided by Mike GREENE, Mrs. Ronald SHIELDS and Ed SHIELDS.

Casketbearers were John SHIELDS, Thomas SHIELDS, William SHIELDS, James SHIELDS, Robert SHIELDS and Lyndell SHIELDS. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery at Mount Ayr.
