OBITUARY ~ NETTIE (STEPHENS) ROBERTS

Claricy Elnettie "Nettie" ROBERTS, daughter of Stacy and Rosa STEPHENS, was born January 2, 1884, near Delphos, Iowa, and passed away March 15, 1960, in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Clair WOOLLUMS, near Mount Ayr, at the age of 76 years, two months and 13 days.

On September 14, 1904, she was united in marriage with Oscar ROBERTS, of near Ellston. Of this union were born a son, Lee ROBERTS, of Elkhorn, Neb., and three daughters, Ella (Mrs. Mark BEEDE), of Swan; Zelma (Mrs. Clair WOOLLUMS), and Lena (Mrs. Paul CLARK), of Kellerton.

Early in life she joined the Baptist Church in Delphos and later attended church at High Point.

She was a kind and loving moving, and was never happier than when she had all of her children and grandchildren around her.

She was preceded in death by her husband; an infant daughter; her parents; one brother, George STEPHENS; a sister, Anna DEIBERT; two infant brothers and one infant sister.

Left to mourn her passing are her four children; ten grandchildren; a great-grandson; a daughter-in-law; three sons-in-law; two brothers, Jeffie STEPHENS of Mount Ayr and Clarence STEPHENS of Benton; a sister, Ella RICHARDSON, of Waterloo; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon from the Rhoades Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Willis GRANT, of Tingley. Music was provided by Mrs. Darlene MORGAN and Mrs. Edna JONES, with Margaret PENCE as organist. Casketbearers were George PETERSON, Arthur DEIBERT, Don STEPHENS, Gerald PETERSON, Arvid WOOLLUMS and Marvin WOOLLUMS. Interment was in the Oliver Cemetery.
