John Orville, son of John and Julia RICHARDSON, was born in Wyoming ___ley, Wisconsin, September 7, 1874, and departed this life November 23, 1943, at the age of 69 years, four months and 21 days. As a small child he moved with his parents to Kansas and later to Redding, Iowa, in the fall of 1893.

He was united in marriage to Ella STEPHENS November 23, 1910 [1908?]. In 1919 the family moved to the farm where they now reside.

Death came after a lingering and painful illness. Those left to mourn his passing include the wife, the two children, Mrs. Mae HUDSON, at home with her mother, and M. Weldon, serving in Africa in the armed forces for his country. The daughter-in-law, Mrs. M. Weldon RICHARDSON, of Waterloo, Iowa, and the son-in-law, Donald HUDSON, on duty with the coast guard in California, are included in the immediate family of mourners. Mrs. Olive COSAND of Garden Grove, Mrs. Erna GARDNER of South Gate, Calif., Mrs. Abbie HARRIS of Redding, and Miss Frona RICHARDSON of Blockton, are the surviving sisters, and the one brother is Al RICHARDSON, of San Diego, Calif. Two sisters, Cora and Myrtle have preceded their brother in death. A number of nieces and nephews together with many neighbors and friends, grieve the passing of this man.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Rhoades Funeral Home in Mount Ayr, conducted by the Rev. Frank MOORE. Burial was made in the Redding Cemetery.
