She had been declining in health for the past year but never complained and always thought of others before herself.

She spent her entire life in Ringgold county, and taught in the rural schools prior to her marriage.

At the age of fourteen years, she joined the Baptist Church at Delphos and was a devoted and faithful member throughout her entire life. Her devotion to the church and Christian principles were exemplified in everything she did. She always gave so much more than she asked in return.

She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend and neighbor and all who knew her will always cherish her memory. Her life was one of self-sacrifice and devotion.

She loved the out-of-doors and enjoyed her garden, which was always much larger than necessary, so that she would have plenty to share with others.

To cherish her memory are her husband; daughter, Gladys and son-in-law, Howard; her son, Lee, and daughter-in-law, Martha; six grandchildren, Kenneth, Mary Ann and Donna SHAW and Linda, Lorin and Helen POLLEY; two great-grandchildren; six sisters, Mrs. Laura LINK of Clearfield, Mrs. Zella BLUNCK of Mount Ayr, and Mrs. Gladys SELLERS and Mrs. Ona KASTER of Des Moines, Mrs. Vinnie GARRETT, of Delphos, and Mrs. Lela HARVEY of Lincoln, Neb.; seven brothers, Walter, of Diagonal, Allen of Mount Ayr, Marion and Ray of Des Moines, Jesse, of Delphos, Roy, of Waterloo, and Paul, of Ames; nieces, nephews, and a multitude of friends.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon from the First Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Orville C. RINEHART. Interment was in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Casketbearers were Jack MOORE, Lee POLLEY, Monte DAILEY, Harold KASTER, Donald STEPHENS and Melvin STEPHENS.
