Funeral services for Robert Vaughn Parrish were held Monday, Nov. 6, 1995 at
the United Methodist Church in Clearfield. Officiating the service was Rev.
Music was provided by Marlene Longfellow and Deb Briggs. Casket bearers were
Art Garrett, LeRoy Beggs, Dean Lyddon, Gaylan Bell, Paul England, Lowell
Brott, Ray Dean Larsen, Jerry Fletchall, Erwood Huffman, Lonnie Barker, Larry
England, Forrest Whipp, and Gilbert Shaffer.
Robert Vaughn Parrish, son of Samuel and Bertha Cochran Parrish, was born on
Feb. 27, 1926 at St. Joseph, Mo., and departed this life on Nov. 3, 1995 at
the Clearview Home at the age of 69.
Due to his mother's death, he was raised from infancy by his Uncle and Aunt,
Earl and Iva Cochran. Except for the last seven months, Bob lived his entire
life at his home place north of Clearfield.
Bob graduated from Clearfield High School in 1943. On June 9, 1944 he was
married to Dorothy Bruner.
Bob and Dorothy were blessed with seven children: Bill, Dixie, Diana, Debra,
James, John, and David.
Bob's pride and joy were his family and farming with John Deere equipment. He
found great joy in teaching his children the values of life and farming. Bob
was a faithful member of the Clearfield United Methodist Church.
He was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star and Noble Lodge # 458.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Bertha; his aunt and uncle,
Iva and Earl; two brothers-in-law, Richard Larsen and Willis Pennington.
Bob is survived by his wife Dorothy, his family of seven children, 23
grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren: Bill and Sharon Parrish, Deena,
David, and Erika Dukes, Dawn Parrish and Desirae; Dixie and Ron Meyer,
Jeffrey, Mandy, and Dalton; Diana and Phil Hegwood, Amy and Kirk Weppler,
Julie, Bonnie and Danny Myers and Tim
Hegwood; Debra and Doug Boyer, Clete, Brent, Ty, Corina, and Drew; James and
Barb Parrish, Andy, Dane, Cody, and Marc; John and Patty Parrish, Kimberly,
Becky and Lincoln; David and Connie Parrish, Adam, Dirk, and Todd.
He is also survived by his half-sister Louise Pennington and her family; his
sister-in-law Darlene Larsen and her family; his parents-in-law Ava and Fred
Bruner; Duan Parrish and a host of other friends and relatives.
Interment was in the Clearfield Cemetery.
Wilson Watson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
