Maloy News

By Liz Lynch

Barry Parks REYNOLDS called Joan JACKSON from her home in Anamosa Friday to tell her that her brother, 57-year-old Dennis PARKS, had passed away suddenly Monday from a heart attack. His wife and two daughters survive him. His parents were I. A. and Irene PARKS, residents of Maloy for years. Irene was a school teacher there when Bob LYNCH was in the sixth grade. For saying something in class she didn't think he should, she made him run around the schoolhouse so many times. His friend, Ken LEPLEY, and he laughed that Ken watched out the window and counted every round he made. Oh, to be a schoolteacher.

Sympathy is exptended to Dennis' sisters, Barry and Monica. Monica is retired from being a teacher in a prison in Illinois and still lives in that town with her daughter.
