OBITUARY ~ REVA FRANCES (NEVILL) PARKHURST

Funeral services were held Monday at the Clearfield United Methodist Church for Reva Parkhurst, 82, Mrs. Parkhurst died Aug. 14 at Clearview Nursing Home in Clearfield.

The Rev. Shirley Lockard officiated at the 10:30 a.m. services, and burial was in Clearfield Cemetery.

Mrs. Parkhurst was born Feb. 28, 1904, in Argyle, daughter of John and Rose Belle Doherty Nevill. She was married to William Parkhurst, who survives. She had been a Clearfield resident 10 years, and had formerly resided in Lenox, Adel and Estherville.

She is also survived by a sister, Lola Knox of Lenox.

OBITUARY ~ REVA FRANCES (NEVILL) PARKHURST

Memorial services for Reva Frances Parkhurst, 82, who died Aug. 14 at Clearview Home in Clearfield, were held Aug. 18 at Clearfield United Methodist Church, the Rev. Shirley Lockard officiating.

Pallbearers were Rod, Curt and Charles Ambrose, James Hamilton, Dick Stephens and Dwight McMath.

Interment was in Clearfield Cemetery with Wilson-Watson Funeral Homes in charge.

Reva Frances Parkhurst was born Feb. 28, 1904, at Argyle in Lee County, Iowa. She was the second child of Bert and Rose Bell Doherty Nevill.

Her early years were spent in the Clearfield community, where she was graduated from high school with the class of 1922. She was employed for several years as a retail sales clerk in Clearfield businesses.

She was united in marriage to William J. Parkhurst Aug. 15, 1936, in Creston. They resided in Clearfield before moving to Pennsylvania while he was in the Army during World War I. They later had homes in Estherville and Adel, where he was employed. After retiring, they moved to Lenox for a few years prior to purchasing the present home in Clearfield.

She died at the age of 82 on the eve of their 50th wedding anniversary.

Mrs. Parkhurst was an active member of the United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, American Legion Auxiliary and Modern Literary Club. She was a strong supporter of the Clearfield Congregate Meal Site.

Her husband and home were the center of her life, and she loved to do crafts and play table games.

Having no children of her own, she especially liked doing things for the young children around her. She was a kind and loving friend and neighbor.

Survivors include her husband of the home; a sister, Lola Knox of Lenox;, a sister-in-law, Mae Parkhurst of Colo, Ia., and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Roth Nevill, and his wife, Ruth.
