OBITUARY ~ MARTHA (SEYMOUR) OWENS

Martha Seymour Owens was born December 14, 1903 in Townville, Pa, to the Rev. Ernest and Mrs. Minne (Coleman) Seymour and died November 22, 1993.

They moved to Iowa when she was young. She attended high school in Boone, Iowa. She then attended college at Chicago University, Dubuque University, and Iowa State College. She taught Home Economics for several years. She also ran a tea room during the depression in Sac City, Iowa.

On June 5, 1946, she married Myron K. Owens of Clearfield, Iowa They lived on the farm for four years; then they started living in New Hampshire for most of the year at Georges Mill, where they still live. She was a member of the Baptist Church, and joined the Methodist Church in 1960.

Survivors include her husband, Myron; nephew Ernest Carl Seymour and wife Dolores of Green Bay, Wi.; niece Betty Janet and her husband, Alfred Wasleske of Stevens Point, Wi.; also great and great, great nieces and nephews.

She will be laid to rest in Clearfield, Iowa, beside Myron's parents.

Services are pending and will be held this spring at the United Methodist Church in Clearfield, Iowa The Rev. Al Rusk will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts will be for the United Methodist Church, Clearfield, Iowa P. 0. Box 88, Clearfield, Iowa 50840.
