OBITUARY ~ CLIFFORD DALE NEESE

Clifford Dale Neese, son of Clifford J. and Muriel L. Wills Neese, was born April 25, 1930 near Stanhope, Iowa. He passed away at the Veterans Hospital in St. Cloud, Minn., on Friday, August 14, at the age of 62 years, 3 months and 19 days.

Dale attended Stanhope school and entered the U.S. Army in the early 1950's. He was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. in Creston and a former member of the American Legion in Blockton.

On July 2, 1955, he married Opal H. Burras in Stanhope.

He drove trucks for several years before moving his family to Blockton, where he owned and operated Blockton Cafe for 10 years before his illness.

Dale was preceded in death by his mother, Muriel; two sons, Scott and Kenneth; and one grandson, Lucas James Ridge.

He is survived by Opal, his wife of 38 years; one son, Steve and wife Ellen of Dubuque; five daughters, Debra and husband Dick Stewart of Clearfield; Patricia and husband Tony Thede of Lenox; Kathy and husband Tom Eagan of Creston; Jackie and husband Rick Ridge of Grant City, Mo.; and Linda of Clearfield; fourteen grandchildren; his father Clifford J. Neese of Boone; a brother, Darrel J. Neese of Beldon, Neb.; sisters, Helen Carlson of Pilot Mound, Iowa; Ann Doherty of Boone, and Carol Wightman of Ames; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 18 at the Prugh-Dunfee Funeral Home in Grant City. Pastor Alan J. Rusk officiated. Interment was in the Clearfield Cemetery.
