OBITUARY - LESTER ARTHUR "ROUDY" ROUDYBUSH
Lester "Roudy" Arthur ROUDYBUSH, 88, of Plymouth, died Wednesday
[Oct. 2, 1996] at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Bride
Colonial Chapel, 110 E. Spring St., Manly, with the Rev. Kathy
KLUISE of the Plymouth United Methodist Church officiating.
Following the funeral services, the body will be cremated with
inurnment at a later date at the Oakwood Cemetery in Plymouth.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral chapel
and one hour prior to service time on Saturday.
Lester "Roudy" Arthur ROUDYBUSH was born on May 10, 1908,
in Diagonal, the son of William and Maria (GRIFFITH) ROUDYBUSH.
He attended and received his education in the Diagonal school
He was united in marriage to Opal DAVIS on June 30, 1931, in
After their marriage they continued to live in the Davis City
area until moving to Mason City where he worked for the International
Mineral and Chemical Company, retiring after 16 years.
After he retired he worked for the South Multi-Purpose Center
also called the Community Action Center in Mason City for 12
years until his retirement in 1986, when they moved to Kensett.
In later years, they moved to Plymouth.
Roudy enjoyed gardening, raising his Dalmations and birds. Music
was a large part of his life and he enjoyed playing the banjo
and also enjoyed calling square dances.
He was a Methodist by faith.
He will be sadly missed by his wife, Opal ROUDYBUSH of Plymouth;
one daughter, Donna PRAZAK and her husband, Kenny, of Plymouth;
four grandchildren, Regina HALEY and her husband, Marvin of Manly;
Diane KEEGA and her husband, Jeff, of Mason City; Mike PRAZAK
and his wife, Edie, of Grafton, and Janet TRETTER and her husband,
David, of Grafton; seven great-grandchildren, Micki MULLER of
Mason City; Traci KAMISH and her husband, Chad, of Manly; Jennifer
HALEY of Manly; Jake and Cassie PRAZAK of Grafton; Heather HICOK
of Mason City, and Seth RYF of Grafton; one step-great-grandson,
Jeff HALEY and his wife, Kim of Manly; one foster great-grandson,
Brian CRAIG of Manly; three great-great-grandchildren, Jace and
Brooke KAMISH of Manly, and Mackenzie MULLER of Mason City; one
sister, Fern DOLECHECK of Diagonal; many nieces and nephews,
other relatives and close family friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers and
