FRANK HENRY "HANK" ROACH

Frank Henry ROACH, 94, of Grant City, [Worth County] Missouri died at the Worth County Convalescent Center on Tuesday morning, March 25th, 2008 where he had lived for more than 5 years. Frank "Hank" was born January 09, 1914 in Conway, Iowa. He was one of 7 children born to Levi Sanole ROACH and Ida Mae (THOMAS) ROACH.

Some of Hankís fondest memories were of his rodeo days when the family lived in Colorado and Nebraska. His past birthday he reminisced about those days as well as the days he worked construction. After Colorado, the family returned to a farm West of Mount Ayr, Iowa where they lived for more than 10 years. Hank was a happy hearted man and his memories kept him happy. He cherished family and that was known by all who knew him.

On February 02, 1941 he married Margaret HOLCOMB in Corning, Iowa. She was the daughter of Lewis HOLCOMB and Belle LONG. Although he and Margaret had no children together, Margaretís children became his own. He and Margaret lived in Kent, Iowa for numerous years, until Margaretís death in September, 1983.

Hank seldom went anywhere without the accompaniment of his faithful dogs and his fishing poles. He loved to fish and loved to tell stories, and he had some good ones. After Margaretís death, the majority of his life was spent in Grant City.

Preceding him in death are his parents, siblings, and his stepchildren: Howard and Bill ELDER and Mary Alice CURTIS, as well as many nieces and other relatives.

Those surviving him are his only niece Darlene COTTRELL of Creston, Iowa and host of distant relatives, friends and acquaintances.

Services were held Thursday, March 27, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. from Wilson-Watson & Armstrong Funeral Home, Mount Ayr, Iowa.
