George RISLER Rites Set

CASPER -- A 92-year-old pioneer rancher died here [Casper, Wyoming] Thursday.

George W. RISSLER, 229 South Kenwood, died at Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness. Born March 8, 1881 in Mt. Ayre (sic), Iowa [the son of William Barzilla "Barley" and Emma Sarah (BOWER) RISSLER], RISSLER came to Wyoming in 1907 from the Hawkeye State. He purchased the ranch of former Gov. B. B. BROOKS of Casper in 1915, and ranched until his retirement in 1949.

RISSLER married the former Edna HECKETHORN on Sept. 28, 1904 at Promise City, Iowa. He was a life-long member of the First Christian Church.

In addition to his wife, Edna, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Nona REED of Bisilia, Calif.; four sons, W. H. [Wesley Homer] "Buss" RISSLER, Kenneth, Howard and Francis, all of Casper; and three brothers, Harry and Joe, both of Casper, and Fred of Iowa. Eighteen grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren also survive.

RISSLER was preceded in death by one son [William in 1955].

Graveside services will be held Monday at 11 a.m., with the Dr. Thomas NORMAN of the First Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in the Pioneers' Plot, Highland Cemetery.

Flowers or memorials to the First Christian Church will be equally appreciated by the family.
