OBITUARY

RICE - CDR (Ret.) Russell Coleman RICE passed away July 18, 1998 at his home after a 5 year battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 21, 1998 at 10 AM in the chapel of Arlington Park Funeral Home, with Rev. Gwin PRATT officiating. Interment will follow in Arlington Park Cemetery with full Military Honors.

He was born on October 19, 1917 in Kellerton, Iowa to Lawrence and Dency (YOUNG) RICE. He graduated from high school in Ellston, Iowa and from Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa. He received a degree in Naval Architecture from Michigan University. He entered the Navy during WW II and retired in 1969 from the Mayport, Florida office of Supervisor of Ship Building and Repair.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Marjory Louise RODGERS RICE, two daughters; Susan RICE CAFARO (Jim), and Nancy RICE HILL (Joe), and six grandchildren; Troy HALLENBECK (Terri), David, Alex, and Katy CAFARO, and Ashley and Laura HILL.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

Surviving are: Raymond RICE, Kellerton, Iowa; Eleanor HUNTER, Springfield, Missouri, Tye WYSS, Glendora, California, Patricia KING, Robert RICE and Tini RICE, Salem, Oregon; Gary RICE, Rapid City, South Dakota and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations may be made to Hospice of Northeast Florida or The Calvin Presbyterian Church. Arrangements by Arlington Park Funeral Home , 6920 Lone Star Road, Jacksonville, Florida 724-6384.
