OBITUARY - FRANK REYNOLDS

Frank Reynolds.jpg American Flag.jpg Frank REYNOLDS, 80, of Kellerton died Aug. 8, 2008, at Clearview Home in Mount Ayr.

Services were held 1:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 11, at Wilson-Watson and Armstrong Funeral Home, 205 W. Monroe St., Mount Ayr. The Rev. Terry ROBERTS officiated. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery in Mount Ayr. Memorials are to be established in his name.

Francis Marion "Frank" REYNOLDS was born April 30, 1928 near Redding, IA to Merle & Gladys (McCARTY) REYNOLDS. He passed away on August 8, 2008 at Clearview Home in Mount Ayr.

Frank served his country from July 2, 1945 to October 29, 1947 in the U.S. Navy. Frank was on the "USS McCaffery" and carried mail and payroll to the South Sea Islands from Guam to Okinawa. On June 1, 1950, he was united in marriage to Loretta ROBINSON at the Christian Church parsonage in Mount Ayr. To this union was born 3 daughters Peggy Irene, Carol Kaye, and Tammy Rae.

Frank built houses for 40 years in Colorado, Montana, Arizona, Nebraska and South Carolina.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Carol REYNOLDS; brother John REYNOLDS; sisters Opal (Jean ROBERTSON and Virginia GAULE; brother-in-law Richard CAMPBELL; and a sister-in-law Delores REYNOLDS.

Survivors include his two daughters Peggy LEIGH & husband Phillip and Tammy SUTTON & husband Timothy, all of Parker, CO; two brothers Burl REYNOLDS of Denver, CO and Ronald REYNOLDS & wife Shari of Earlham, IA; three sisters Dorothy CAMPBELL of Fremont, NE, Ramona BRAND & husband Clyde of Mount Ayr, and Roena DREDGE & husband Junior of Mount Ayr; two brothers-in-law Edgar ROBERTSON of Diagonal & Raymond GAULE of Des Moines; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Services were held on Monday, August 22, 2008 at Wilson-Watson & Armstrong Funeral Home in Mount Ayr with Rev. Terry ROBERTS officiating. Musicians were Nancy SACKETT, Andy TRULLINGER and Margaret BICKERS. Wilson-Watson & Armstrong Funeral Home handled the arrangements.

Casket bearers were Jim BRAND, Richard SNETHEN, Raymond GAULE, Dave BRAND, Duane DREDGE and Gary SMITH.

Military rites were conducted by American Legion Kellerton Post #676 and Mount Ayr Post #172.

Frank was laid to rest in the Rose Hill Cemtery in Mount Ayr.
