OBITUARY - ALICE REDMAN

Alice Myrtle JOHNSTON, daughter of Thomas T. and Elizabeth A. (HESS) JOHNSTON, was born on a farm near Ellston, Iowa, May 1, 1890, and died at the Clearview Nursing Home in Mount Ayr, Iowa, March 22, 1977 at the age of 86 years, 10 months and 22 days. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Grand River, Iowa.

On Jan. 29, 1911, she was united in marriage to Ernie E. FOLAND in the Methodist parsonage at Grand River. They lived in or near Grand River.

She married George Franklin REDMAN [ Alice & Frank pictured above left] in Des Moines, Iowa, March 14, 1936. Alice and Frank made their home on the REDMAN farm southeast of Grand River until moving to an acreage on the west edge of Leon in October, 1946. She lived her life in Ringgold and Decatur Counties, with the last 5 years in the Clearview Nursing Home in Mount Ayr, Iowa.

Preceding her in death were her parents, brother Herbert JOHNSTON; husband Frank; and step-daughter Helen BLACK.

She is survived by her brother Horace A. JOHNSTON, Mesa, Ariz.; six nephews: Raymond JOHNSTON and Rupert JOHNSTON, Mount Ayr; Robert JOHNSTON, Mesa, Ariz.; Richard JOHNSTON, Colorado Springs, Colo.; Thomas JOHNSTON, Fort Madison, Iowa; and William E. JOHNSTON, Bedford, Iowa and their wives; three step-children, Clarence REDMAN, Clinton, Iowa; Horace REDMAN, Baton Rouge, La.; and Mildred ALBERTS, Roanoke, Texas.

[Interment Leon Cemetery, Leon, Decatur County, Iowa.]
