DEATH of JOSEPHUS PRITCHARD.

--A sad case of accidental drowning occurred in Monroe township last Saturday, the victim being Josephus PRITCHARD, son of Thos. PRITCHARD of Liberty township. On Saturday, Josephus, accompanied by several boys, and Chas. ZWICK, for whom young PRITCHARD was working, repaired to a large pond near by to bathe. PRITCHARD and anotherof the young men swam to the middle of the pond where the water was perhaps 15 feet deep, when PRITCHARD sank out of sight. He arose to the surface and cried for help. His comrade reached out a hand when the drowning man grasped him about the neck and both went down, but in doing so PRICTHARD loosed his hold and the young many got away. In the meantime, a plank had been shoved to them, and young PRITCHARD grabbed it but lost his hold and sank to the bottom to rise no more. By this time a crowd had gathered but it was too late. The pond was immediately drained, the body taken out and the grief-stricken family sent for. He was buried on Sunday from the residence of Mr. ZWICK. Young PRITCHARD would have been 21 years of age on the 27th of this month, and the parents were ready to celebrate his majority at the home circle with a happy time, but now instead untold sorrow shadows that recent household - the Reaper has done his work. The family have the sympathy of all in this their hour of affliction.
