Ringgold Record, 1909

DEATH of MRS. PRICE.

Died at the home of her daughter Mrs. Samuel WILLIAMS, in Richman township, Wayne county, Iowa, April 5th, 1809 (sic, should be 1909), where she had been visiting the past six months.

Catharine WILBUR was born in Warrickshire, England, July 20, 1818, being eighty years, eight months and fifteen days old at the time of her death. She was married to Mr. William PRICE in 1839. To them were born six children, all of whom are living, William PRICE, Crete, Neb.; Rosa WILLIAMS, Humeston, Iowa; Eliza WELCH, Neb.: Elizabeth MORGAN, Mt. Ayr, Iowa; Jasper PRICE, Tingley, Iowa. They came to American and settled in Orleans, Indiana, in 1848; removed from there to Benton township, Wayne county, in 1855. At that time the county was new and thinly settled and they knew the hardships of pioneer life. They moved to Ringgold county in 1882. Mr. PRICE died November 14, 1897. Mrs. PRICE joined the M. E. church in 1866 under the ministry of Rev. G. P. BENNETT. She was a faithful worker in the church as long as her health would permit. She had been an invalid for the past twenty years. She spoke of the future with calmness and the joy of a blessed reunion with those gone before.

The funeral services were held at the home of Jasper PRICE, near her old home five of her children being present. She was laid to rest in the Johnston cemetery [near Kellerton], Ringgold county, by the side of her husband.
