OBITUARY - MARJORIE E. (WEBB) PRENTIS

Marjorie E. PRENTIS, 84, of Mount Ayr died July 2, 2004, at Ringgold County Hospital in Mount Ayr.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 6, at Wilson-Watson and Armstrong Funeral Home, 205 W. Monroe St., Mount Ayr. The Rev. Carmen LAMPE-ZEITLER and the Rev. Peter BRANTNER will officiate the service. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery at Mount Ayr. Open and family visitation will be 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to United Baptist-Presbyterian Church in Mount Ayr.

Mrs. PRENTIS, daughter of Verna Lou (BARRETT) and Finis David WEBB, was born March 2, 1920, in Clayton, N.M. She was a 1938 graduate of Altus High School in Altus, Calif. On August 2, 1941, she married Richard Tennant PRENTIS in Washington, D.C. She owned PRENTIS Ceramics, and was owner and bookkeeper for PRENTIS Hatchery. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Mount Ayr, Order of the Eastern Star and PEO.

Survivors include three daughters, Ellen (husband Everett "Jake") POWELL of Mount Ayr, Kathryn WITTMANN of Lincoln, Neb., and Vicki PRENTIS of Clarinda; a sister-in-law, Jean (PRENTIS) REGER; two brothers-in-law, Richard WITTMANN and Ray (wife Pat) PRENTIS; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three brothers, Arthur, Otis and Hollie WEBB; two sisters, Lillie and Ruth; parents-in-law, X. T. and Gladys PRENTIS; a sister-in-law, Anne (PRENTIS) WITTMANN; and a brother-in-law, Wesley REGER.
