OBITUARY - BOBBY RAY POTTORFF, JR.

Bobby Ray POTTORFF, Jr. was born November 8, 1983, at the Ringgold Co. Hospital in Mount Ayr, Iowa. He is the youngest son of Bobby Ray POTTORFF, Sr., and Mary Ann (WOOD) POTTORFF. Bobby, nicknamed "Sugarbear" by his siblings, was a remarkable, outstanding, special son and brother. He was family oriented and loved all children especially his nieces and nephews. Bobby had the ability to connect positively with all he met and he stuck up for the underdogs of the community. He was outgoing and had many friends, girls and boys, and best friend Aaron ROBERTS. Bobby's home was constantly filled with friends. He liked hockey, baseball, and basketball. He had made friends at the Lighthouse Christian Center and had participated in a round of paintball recently. Bobby was an artist and his many drawings will be treasured by his family and friends. Bobby spent time in the outdoors and looked forward to the hunting season when his priority was spending time with Dad.

Bobby attended South Central Academy and graduated from Mount Ayr Community High School with the class of 2002. He bonded with his school friends and with Darrell DODGE. Bobby had just recently moved to Coalville, Iowa to begin his future plans, and on August 24, 2002, he departed this life for eternal life in Heaven.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Glenn and Leona POTTORFF of Mount Ayr as well as aunts and uncles.

Those left to cherish his memory are his parents, Bob and Mary Ann of Mount Ayr; grandparents, Donald and Pauline WOOD of Tingley, IA. and Jean POTTORFF of Lamoni, IA; eight brothers & sisters, Mike O'MALIA of Mineral Point, Wisconsin, Kevin O'MALIA and wife Kim of Diagonal, Iowa, Shawn O'MALIA & wife Nichole of Montgomery, Alabama, Randy POTTORFF and wife Angie of Des Moines, Iowa, Pam McCORD & husband Archie of Grant City, Missouri, Tilena MEEK & husband, Kevin of Grant City, Missouri, Rhonda ALMQUIST & husband Mike of Essex, Iowa, and LeAnne WALSH & husband Pat of Cherokee, Iowa; 19 nieces and nephews; 2 great nephews; aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

Interment at Marshalltown Cemetery near Benton, Ringgold County, Iowa.
