OBITUARY - RONALD FRANKLIN PINE

American Flag.jpg Ronald Franklin PINE, 74, of Gladstone, MO, passed away Tuesday December 9, 2008 at a local hospital. Born September 23, 1934 in Diagonal, Iowa, Ron was the third of seven children, and graduated from Diagonal High School in 1953. On February 27, 1959 Ron married Joan F. DOWNING and they enjoyed each other's company for 49 years. Ron was discharged from the United States Army Airborne in 1961. After 33 years of service Ron retired from TWA as a lead aircraft inspector. Ron was a graduate of Spartan School of Aeronautics in Tulsa, OK and also received an Associate's Degree in Electronics from Maplewood Community College. Ron loved airplanes and loved to fly. Ron was a member of the Rising Sun Masonic Lodge 13 where he was a 3rd Degree Master Mason, he was a 32 degree member of the Scottish Rite, a member of the Golden Gate Chapter 58 Order of the Eastern Star where he was a Past Patron. Ron served as Grand Representative of Ontario in Missouri. Ron's family describes Ron as a generous, loving and honorable man.

Mr. PINE was preceded in death by his parents, Orville and Margaret Lucille (SAYLER) PINE; 2 brothers, Raymond and Robert Orville PINE; 4 sisters, Ruth MATHIS, Evelyn RICKER, Liz WILEY, and Beverly Rose PINE.

Survivors include his wife, Joan F. (DOWNING) PINE; 2 daughters Rhonda (Gavriella) KAISERMAN of TN and Shawna NELSON (Chris) of Kansas City, MO; 3 grandchildren, Logan, Amber, and Kailyn; and 1 great granddaughter, Sophie Dina.

Graveside services and burial are scheduled for 1 p.m. Monday December 15, 2008 at Diagonal Cemetery (sic, interment was made at Bethel Cemetery) Diagonal, Iowa. The family will receive friends from 2-4 PM Sunday at White Chapel Funeral Home, Gladstone, MO. A Masonic Service will be at 4 p.m. Sunday.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements were handled by White Chapel Funeral Home (816) 452-8419
