OBITUARY - RAYMOND VIRGIL PINE

Raymond V. PINE, age 69, of Des Moines, Iowa, died Sunday, February 11, 2001, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Des Moines.

Mr. PINE was born June 30, 1931, to Margaret SAYLOR and Orville PINE in Diagonal, Iowa. He lived most of his life in Des Moines. He was employed with Ziegler, Inc. as a foreman and worked there for 37 years, retiring in 1994. He served with the Army in the Korean Conflict.

He was a member of the Beaverdale VFW Post 9127 and Highland Park American Legion Post 0374.

Mr. Pine was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret (SAYLOR) PINE.

Survivors include his wife LaVon PINE of Des Moines; father Orville PINE of Diagonal; son Wayne PINE of Fremont, California; sisters, Ruth MATHIS of Oskaloosa, Iowa, Evelyn RICKER of Mount Ayr, Iowa, Elizabeth WILEY of Diagonal and Beverly WOODS of Omaha, Nebraska; and brothers, Robert PINE of Omaha, Nebraska and Ronald PINE of Kansas City, Missouri. Funeral services were held Wednesday, February 14, 2001, at Dunn's Funeral Home, Des Moines. Burial was in Bethel Cemetery, Diagonal.

Memorials may be made to Highland Park American Legion Post 374, Des Moines, or VFW Post 9127, Des Moines.
