OBITUARY - FRANK PERKINS

Frank PERKINS, 95, passed away March 4, 2002 at Medalion Health Care Center in Colorado Springs.

He was born February 4, 1907, in Benton, Iowa, to Bert W. and Blanche (RANDALL) PERKINS. Frank married Ruth LITTLE on 6, 1936 in Pueblo. Their only child died at birth on November 27, 1941. Ruth passed away on June 18, 1984, after 48 years of marriage.

Frank was a member of First Presbyterian Church. He received his Bachelor's Degree from Fort Hays Kansas State College in 1932 and his Master's Degree from what is now the University of Northern Colorado. He was admitted into the Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants on November 21, 1955.

Frank taught at both the high school and college levels. He was employed as a classification secretary at the United States Penitentiary in Leavenworth, Kansas. He was a Certified Public Accountant in Colorado Springs for thirty years.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, wife and infant son. He was also preceded in death by his sister Isabel EDWARDS, brothers Dale PERKINS and Ralph PERKINS, sister-in-law Lois CAROCCI and Marion BOWDEN, and brother-in-law Joseph "Chief" BOWDEN.

Frank is survived by sisters-in-law Flossie PERKINS of Pittsburg, Kansas, and Thelma PERKINS of Derby, Kansas, as well as brother-in- law Guy Carocci of Beltsville, Maryland. He is also survived by nieces Gail WALTER of Goodland, Kansas, Janet FLAHERTY of Bethesda, Maryland, and Lynn COLE of Derby, Kansas. He is survived by nephews Don PERKINS of Pittsburg, Kansas, and Larry PERKINS of Iowa City, Iowa.

Frank also leaves dear friends Marzelle BERRY and Sue BRANDT, both of Colorado Springs, as well as Randy, Susan, Sean, Drew and Reid PHILLIPS of Monument.

Frank will be remembered as a gentleman and a true friend as well as a kind and loving uncle. He will be greatly missed.

A viewing will be held from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. today at the Swan-Law Chapel. Graveside services will be Friday, March 8, at 9:30 a.m., at Evergreen Cemetery. A memorial service will follow at 10:30 a.m. at Medalion East Chapel, 1719 East Bijou.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Deacon's Fund at First Presbyterian Church or to the Dale House Project, 24 East Dale Street, Colorado Springs, CO., 80903.
