OBITUARY - MARJORIE FLORENCE WILLIAMSON PAYNE

July 28, 1915 - July 30, 2010

Marjorie Florence WILLIAMSON PAYNE, daughter of Roy and Ethel (KOPP) WILLIAMSON, was born at home southeast of Clearfield, Iowa on July 28, 1915. She went to be with her Lord on July 30, 2010 at the age of 95 years and two days. She never lived more than 25 miles from where she was born. Marjorie graduated from Clearfield high school in 1932 and went on to take normal training to become a teacher. She left teaching when she married Roger Franklin PAYNE on June 11, 1936. To this union was born one daughter, Karen Elaine.

While on the farm she enjoyed her cats, gardening and watching the crops and flowers grow. Marjorie always stayed involved in the farming process from planting to harvesting. Her fried chicken will always be remembered as well as her candy dish for the kids. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and an active member in the U.M.W. in Clearfield. She enjoyed the many neighborhood clubs. Marjorie enjoyed the Clearfield alumni banquets and the pre-get-togethers with classmates. She has been honored as one of the oldest Clearfield graduates at recent alumni banquets.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, Roger; parents, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Karen (Hersel Wayne) SMITH of Urbandale, Iowa; four step-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren; five step-great-great-grandchildren; many cousins who she loved dearly, and two nephews, Hugh (Ardith) McCALL and Alan (K. T.) PAYNE.

A memorial fund has been established to the United Methodist Church in Clearfield. Watson-Armstrong Funeral Home in Clearfield was in charge of the arrangements.

Services were conducted at the United Methodist Church in Clearfield on Monday, August 2, 2010. Rev. Shurmaine McALPINE officiated. Musicians were Patty PARRISH and John ALLEN.

Casket bearers included Brian BICKEL, Dale BICKEL, Craig WILLIS, Mike DUCHESNEAU, Jim GEORGE and Greg POWELL. Honorary pallbearers were Hugh McCALL, Colby HOLMES, Charles SOBOTKA and Wallace SOBOTKA.

Marjorie was laid at rest in the Clearfield Cemetery, Clearfield.
