The Mount Ayr Record-News, 1925

OBITUARY - ORANGE C. PATTERSON.

Orange C. PATTERSON was born November 3, 1848, near Newton, Illinois, and departed this life June 27, 1925, at the age of 75 years, seven months and 26 days. He moved to Iowa in early manhood and settled in Decatur county.

June 2, 1873, he married Ruth OSBORN. About twenty years ago they moved from Decatur county to Ringgold county and have lived here ever since.

To Mr. and Mrs. PATTERSON were born ten children: Mrs. Arclesa PATON, of Kimball, S.D.; Leon E., of Shenandoah, Iowa; Minnie, John Taylor, Mrs. Emerine Love, Mrs. Tirza Belle RICHARDSON, of Lamoni; Mrs. Jessie CASE, Lloyd E. and Floyd M., of Mount Ayr, and Mrs. Anna BUTLER, of Denver, Colo.

Minnie, John Taylor, Mrs. Emmerine LOVE and Mrs. Jessie CASE preceded their father in death. Beside his wife and six children he is survived by twenty-four grandchildren and one brother.

Mr. PATTERSON was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church of Mount Ayr, having transferred his membership here from Wishard chapel.

In this long illness he was a patient sufferer. He trusted God for a full and free salvation; he was respected by all who knew him and has left a good name to his loved ones.

CARD OF THANKS.

We take this means to express our heart-felt thanks to the neighbors and friends for their many acts of kindness shown us during the sickness and words of sympathy on the occasion of death and funeral of our husband and father. We are profoundly grateful to all.
MRS. O. C. PATTERSON.
