OBITUARY.

  Civil War Flags.jpgHarmon PATRICK was born in Jackson County, Indiana on March 20, 1829, the son of Harmon PATRICK, Sr. and Mary (WOLFORD) PATRICK, and died at the age of 74 years, 1 month and 2 days on February 22, 1903.

Harmon married first Malinda (sic, should be Matilda) Urene BENT, the daughter of Elijah BENT and Maria[h] (KERR or CARR) BENT, on April 27, 1849 in Marion County, Ohio. They were the parents of five children: Maria Ellen, wife of Joseph "Perry" GLAZEBROOK; Thomas Milton; Hamilton Bent, the husband of Malinda; John; and William PATRICK. Malinda (sic, should be Matilda) died at the age of 28 years, 7 months and 29 days on April, 15, 1869 (in childbirth with twins Charles and Matilda), with interment at Patrick Cemetery near Riley [sic, Riley Township], Ringgold County, Iowa.

Harmon married second on November 18, 1860, Ringgold County, Iowa, to Mary BONNER, daughter of James and Lydia Ellen BONNER. They were the parents of nine children: one daughter and three sons dying in infancy; John L.; Sarah Ann "Sadie", wife of A. J. STRICKLAND; Lydia P. "Mid", wife of S. E. HOLLEN; William H.; and James Edward "Edd."

NOTE: Harmon served with Company C of the Southern Iowa Border Brigade during the Civil War. Harmon PATRICK was interred at Rose Hill Cemetery, Mount Ayr, Ringgold County, Iowa.
