Mrs. [Alma] Jennie [Henry] PARKS, daughter of Mrs. Anna JILES, of Jefferson township, was removed from the earth, April
28th . The funeral services were conducted by Rev. WHITE, of Eugene.
She joined the U[nited]. P[resbyterian]. church in 1871, since that time she has been a professed follower of the Savior. Since religion was
a real experience and living principle with her, it was not hindered in its legitimate work in her character. How fitting
that such a life should pass away to that better land. God's own child - peaceful in life, sweet in death, and joyous in
immortality. We lose, but heaven gains. May we ever so live as to meet the dear ones with Christ and Father at home.
Peaceful be thy silent slumber - we'll not disturb thy sweet repose. The world has lost a friend but heaven has gained a
saint. But, dear one, where thou has gone we'll try to go.
NOTE: Jennie was interred at Eugene
Cemetery, Ringgold County, Iowa. At the time of her death, she was aged 27 years, 8 months, and 26 days.
