OBITUARY - ELIZABETH ABIGAIL BURNISON PARKER

ELIZABETH ABIGAIL BURNISON was born in Mt. Ayr, Iowa, Nov. 19, 1887. She departed this life at her home near Davis City, July 3, 1912, at the age of 24 years, 7 months and 14 days. She resided in Ringgold County until 1894, when with her parents she moved to Davis City, in which community she resided until her death.

She united with the M.E. Church in 1895, when she was eight years old, and has ever since been faithful in her Christian life and duties. She was conscious that she must go, and only a short time before the end came, said that she was ready, if it was her Lord's will. Her suffering was intense at times, yet she bore it all with great fortitude and courage.

On Dec. 31, 1905, she was married to RUBY ARNOLD PARKER, son of Mr. JAMES PARKER, so well known throughout the county as an auctioneer and stock dealer. To this union two children were born, namely, SAMUEL JAMES and LAVON ROXCONA. Her greatest care before her departure was the care of those children, but when she was assured that they would be provided for, she departed in peace. She leaves a devoted husband, the two children above mentioned, an aged mother, three brothers and four sisters, besides many other relatives and friends to mourn her departure.

The funeral services were held at the M.E. Church at Davis City, Friday afternoon at 2:30, conducted by Rev. J.S. Coffin, of Leon. The remains were laid to rest in the Odd Fellows' Cemetery at Davis City, followed by a long procession of sorrowing friends and relatives.
