OBITUARY - Wm. H. PACE

William Hawkins PACE was born in DuBois County, Ind., October 27, 1851 and died at his home southeast of Bedford, Tuesday, Jan. 18, at the age of 86 years, 3 months, and 9 days.

The funeral services were held at the Wetmore funeral Home this Thursday afternoon, conducted by Rev. W. D. THOMAS. Burial was in Memory cemetery at New Market.

He was one of a family of thirteen children and came with his parents to Taylor County when five years of age and resided here since that time. On July 23, 1870 he was married to Harriet KING. To them were born four children, all of whom preceded their father in death with the exception of one son, Dannie, who had taken care of his father in his declining years.

Surviving with the wife and son are eight grandchildren, Lon PACE of Diagonal; Goldie GAMEL of Hopkins, Ona MILLION of La Crosse, Kans., Vesta PARKS of Gravity, Letha WYCKOFF and Joe PACE of Bedford, Jeanette COVERDELL of Diagonal, and Donald PACE of the home. There are also twenty-two great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.

He united with the Old Memory Baptist church at New Market when 22 years of age.
