OBITUARY - ELIZA F. OUDERKIRK.
Eliza F. STOCKDALE was the daughter of Charles and Elizabeth STOCKDALE. She was born June 17, 1844, in Knox county, Illinois,
and departed this life April 3, 1933, aged 88 years, nine months and 17 days. She was united in marriage to Martin OUDERKIRK
August 3, 1862, in Polk county, near Des Moines, Iowa. They moved from there to Knox county, Illinois, where they lived
for several years. They returned to Iowa about the year 1881 and came to Ringgold county, where she has since lived. To this
union were born four children - two boys and two girls: Boyd of Dubuque, Iowa; Blondy of Benton, Iowa; Mrs. Joseph DALTON,
who departed this life September 19, 1924; and Mrs. William FERTIG, who lives near Benton, Iowa. Her son and daughter-in-law,
Mr. and Mrs. Blondy OUDERKIRK, who were constantly at her bedside from the beginning of her illness, also her daughter and some
grandchildren were at her bedside during her last minutes of this life. She leaves two sons and one daughter, several grandchildren,
several great granchildren and other relatives to mourn her death. She died from the affects of a fall, which caused great
suffering to the end. She was raised a Quaker and in early womanhood joined the Methodist church, being a faithful worker to
the last eyars of her life.A Departing Thought.
She used to sit in her chair till the
close of day,
Her form was bent, and her hair was gray.
She felt the weight of her many years,
And her eyes were dim
with the falling tears.
But now she's gone,and her task is done,
This mother and grandmother to everyone.
her death came about through a fall,
She was loved to the last by us all.
She suffered most bravely through all her
For her thoughts were on Heavenly gains.
And never from His callind did she shirk,

2 p. m. Thursday, April 4, conducted by T. S. RHOADES and Rev. Dennis DILLE. Burial at Benton Cemetery.Card of

NOTE: Martin OUDERKIRK, husband of Eliza F. (STOCKDALE), was born on June 14, 1839, and died
November 19, 1913 with interment at Benton Cemetery, Benton, Ringgold County, Iowa. Charles "Blondy" OUDERKIRK, son of
Martin and Eliza F. (STOCKDALE), was born in 1886, and died in 1946 with interment at Benton Cemetery. Charles "Blondy"
OUDERKIRK's wife, Minnie E., was born in 1874 and died in 1934 with interment at Benton Cemetery.
