The Mount Ayr Record-News, 1930

OBITUARY - MRS. WILSON OMER.

Mary ROSISKA [also been spelled "RUSKA"], daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph ROSISKA, was born in Mantawack, Wisconsin, October 17, 1858, and departed this life at her home in Delphos, Iowa, December 22, 1930, being 72 years, two months and five days old.

When a small child she moved with her parents to Andrew county, Missouri, and at the age of 18 years she united with the Presbyterian church at Savannah, Mo.

She was united in marriage to Wilson OMER January 12, 1880, and celebrated their 50th anniversary only last January. To this union five children were born, K. D. OMER of Carlisle, Iowa, Mrs. Harry EWRY of Gillette, Wyo., Mrs. Lillie RUSH and Mrs. Agnes ALLYN of Mount Ayr and Mrs. H. K. SEATON of Delphos.

Her early married life was spent at Cainsville, Mo. Later she with her husband and family moved to Mount Ayr, Iowa. They also lived at Tabor, Iowa, five years before moving to Delphos, where they have resided for the past eleven years.

She had been in failing health since August and everything possible was done to restore her to health. She was a home loving woman and her first thoughts were of home and her family, always found working and planning for her children and grandchildren. It can truly be said, "Her children rise up and call her blessed."

She leaves to mourn her departure her husband, five children, eight grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Dear mother from us you have gone
Tha voice we love is stilled;
A place is vacant in our home,
Which never can be filled.
God in his wisdom has recalled,
The boon his love had given
And though the body slumbers here
The soul is safe in Heaven.

The funeral was conducted by Rev. W. Harold SMITH, pastor of the Mount Ayr Christian church, Tuesday afternoon at the Rhoades Funeral home and interment was made in Rose Hill cemetery [Mount Ayr].

NOTE: Wilson OMER, Mary's husband, was born in 1852, and died in 1935 with interment at Rose Hill Cemetery, Mount Ayr, Ringgold County, Iowa.
