OBITUARY DEAN CLIFFORD NORRIS

Dean Clifford NORRIS, son of George NORRIS and Ada May McCLAIN NORRIS, was born at Redding in Ringgold County, Iowa, on April 30 1903, and departed this life March 10, 1986, at the Saint Francis Hospital in Maryville, Missouri, at the age of 82 years, 10 months and 10 days.

He grew to maturity in the Redding area where he attended the public school and the Methodist church.

He engaged in farming until he went into the Phillips 66 Oil station at Redding and operated it for 34 years until his retirement in 1065.

On August 6, 1949 he was united in marrige to Alma MEEKER and they lived in Redding, Iowa, until 1982 when they moved to Bedford, Iowa, where they have continued to reside.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Inex DENNEY and Sylvia HANDLEY; and a brother, Dayton NORRIS; three half-brothers, Charles "Todd" NORRIS, Leslie NORRIS and Clyde NORRIS; and a half-sister, Bertha VanNOY.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Alma, of the home; a step-daughter, Irilene DENNEY and her husband Nelson DENNEY of Red Feather Lakes, Colorado; one step-granddaughter, Sue BRIGGS; and two great-step-grandchildren, Jay and Amy BRIGGS; nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

He was a member of the Bedford United Methodist Church.

His loved ones will remember him as a kind and considerate person and he will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Funeral services were held March 14, 1986, at the Redding United Methodist church in Redding, Iowa, with burial in the Redding Cemetery.
