OBITUARY - BURT E. NORRIS

Burt E. NORRIS, son of D[aniel]. Burt and Ina BABCOCK NORRIS, was born August 19, 1904, at Redding, Iowa, and passed away at his home in Greeley, Colorado January 14, 1987 at the age of 82 years.

As a young man he was active in music of the church and surrounding area. He farmed in West Branch, Iowa, where he met Dorothy OHL. They were married June 23, 1944, in West Liberty, Iowa. They farmed and managed motels in Iowa, Illinois, and Nebraska. In 1959 they moved to Greeley, Colorado, where he worked as a carpenter. Dorothy passed away December 9, 1976.

On June 17, 1979, he married Clara SEAMON, who survives him. Additional survivors include four step-sons - Arden OHL of Modesto, California, Duane OHL of Elgin, Illinois, Eugene OHL of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, and Bill CARDWELL of El Paso, Texas; four brothers - Orville NORRIS of Springfield, Missouri, Caffee NORRIS of Groves, Texas, Neil NORRIS of Fort Morgan, colorado, and Harold NORRIS of Russell, Iowa; four sisters - Georg Ina O'DELL of Springfield, Missouri, Harriet CARR of Sarcoxie, Missouri, Zelma ROLF of Greeley, Colorado, and Velva HANRATH of Westboro, Missouri.

Funeral services were held from the Redding United Methodist Church at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 18, conducted by Rev. Doris KINTON, with interment in the Redding Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Prugh-Dunfee Funeral Home.
