OBITUARY ~ BELLE CLARK NICKLE

Mrs. Belle Nickle was born in Clinton Co., Indiana March 8th, 1840 and fell asleep in her home in Bedford, Iowa January 25th, 1920. The span of her life was almost three score and ten.

She was converted when just a little girl and united with the Methodist church of which communion she remained a member until about 26 years ago when she and her husband became members of the Christian Church at Clearfield, where they made their home on a farm near the town for a number of years.

Seventeen years ago they moved to Bedford and at once placed their membership with the Christian Church, but owing to ill health. Sister Nickle was not permitted to enjoy an active life in the service as was her desire, but she always encouraged others who were able to do so.

She was of a quiet, self sacrificing home loving disposition, and was ever ready with a good word for every one.

Those who remain of her family now mourning her going are her husband, D. E. Nickle, one son E. R. Nickle of Clearfield, two daughters, Mrs. Maymie Conning of Clearfield and Miss Cecil Nickle of Bedford, also one sisters; Mrs. C. F. Allen and one brother, F. R. Clark, both of Bedford. There are also eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren who with the others miss the kindly face and pleasant words of grandmother. Another daughter was born to Mrs. Nickle who fell asleep several years ago.

Funeral services were conducted from her home Wednesday morning January, 28, by her minister, E.E. Lowe. Another service was held from the Christian Church in Clearfield and interment was at Clearfield Cemetery.
